I Kissed a Girl became the number one hit in the world due to the combination of titillation with a polished melodic tune. The song also assisted her to sell more albums, such as One of the Boys. Hot N Cold's sharp and bouncey second track was extremely popular. The album that Perry wrote in large part sold over three million copies.
