Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell is an American TV journalist anchor and anchor and commentator on NBC News based in Washington D.C. After growing up in New York City, Mitchell obtained a bachelor's degree in English literature at The University of Pennsylvania. Mitchell started in the field of radio and television reporter for Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. In 1976, she was a CBS affiliate WDVM-TV. (then WTOP in Washington DC). The following year, she was general reporter at NBC News in Washington. In 1981, she began covering at the White House, and in 1988 she was appointed the chief congressional correspondent. Then, in 1992 she was named the Chief White House Correspondent and in 1994 chief foreign affairs reporter of NBC News. Mitchell was the host and panelist for the TV news program Meet the Press. She served as a panelist in the presidential debates in 1988 in the debate between George Bush and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell married Alan Greenspan the former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell was awarded in 2005 the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism for the John F. Kennedy School of Government. And in 2004 the Radio-Television News Directors Association, (RTNDA) was honoured Mitchell for her role to the cause of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell covered for the White House first for NBC News between the years 1981-88, which was between the terms of Ronald Reagan's second term as president. Mitchell covered a wide range of notable stories, including the Iran-Contra scandal as well as budget tax reforms and the arms control. She traveled with Reagan on numerous occasions to meet with Reagan on numerous occasions for summits, and to discuss topics including and the Iran Contra controversy.
